I found PFB to be a pleasant little watch.  It may not have quite had the Arthurian Magic of the original show, which I think was at least partially due to lack of an eclectic nuclear cast, but it was great fun watching Buster interact with the real world.  It was clearly aimed at being more about cultural education than teaching lessons about life and friendship (like Arthur), so I eventually took it for what it was and enjoyed it on that level.
