Cast in Other Projects

Has anyone ever heard a voice from Arthur in other cartoons? The former Cinar produced a number of kid stuff back in the day, and it seems like inevitably, you'd hear some of the same voices in just about all of their programs. Most notably, you can hear Bruce Dinsmore's Binky voice coming out of other characters like Tubby from Little Lulu and Horace from Wimzie's House. But of course, you can hear other voices in both too. For instance...

Wimzie's House
Sonja Ball voiced Wimzie, who sounds very similar to Mrs. Read, but much higher obviously.
Holly G. Frankel voiced Loulou, and similarly, sounds like a higher Fern.
Jane Woods voiced Yaya, although she doesn't voice any regular character from Arthur, but she seems to voice a lot of one-shot characters like Muffy's hairstylist from "Francine's Bad Hair Day", the waitress from "Arthur's Family Vacation", among others.

The Little Lulu Show
Jane Woods was the second voice of Lulu (Tracey Ullman was the first), and the first voice of Iggy (think Lulu with a sore throat)
Michael Caloz was the first voice for Annie, who sounded just like D.W.
Vanessa Lengies was the second voice for Annie, though I don't remember if she sounded anything like Emily or not.
Michael Yarmush was one of the Westside Boys, who basically sounded like Arthur with a sore throat (think Arthur as the evil wizard chanting "DOR-A WIN-I-FRED! DOR-A WIN-I-FRED!").
Ricky Mabe (one of the Tibbles at one point) voiced Willy.
Justin Bradley (Arthur from Season Six) voiced Eddie.
There was an episode that dealt with Lulu and Annie getting a package mixed up with Tubby and Iggy, one of the items was a skeleton that needed to be delivered to a university for medical studies, and I believe the professor was voiced by the same actor who voiced Mr. Pricejones from "Return of the King"

Again, she didn't do any major character voices on Arthur, but after watching both Wimzie and Lulu so many times, I've detected her voice for various one-shot characters throughout Arthur over the years. Muffy's hairstylist from "Francine's Bad Hair Day" and the waitress at the diner and the tour guide at Flo's Fudge Factory from "Arthur's Family Vacation" are some of the one-shot characters I've heard her voice from.

I have wondered though if she's the voice of Mrs. Frensky, the voice seems really similar, but I don't know for certain.

But at any rate, she's another Canadian voice actress.

Very interesting. I may have to look into her some more. She might eventually find a spot on the wiki  ;)

Here's a clip from Little Lulu where you can hear both Bruce Dinsmore and Michael Caloz voices.

How about Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese Cat in 2001-2002?
Holly G. Frankel, voice of Fern on Arthur, voiced Sagwa
Arthur Holden, voice of Mr. Ratburn on Arthur, voiced Sagwa's father Baba Miao.
Oliver Grainger, the second voice of D.W. on Arthur, voiced Sagwa's big brother Dongwa.
Ellen David, voice of Bitzi Baxter on Arthur, voiced Sagwa's mother Mama Miao.

Maggie Castle even had a role in a movie that used to air in occassion on HBO Family called "Nico the Unicorn".

And no one mentioned Jodie "Francine Frensky" Resther was one of the MIDNIGHT SQUAD storytellers in the 1990's live action series "Are You Afraid of the Dark".

I also really like it when you see these Arthur actors showing up in dramatic roles in feature films.
Marc Camacho(Oliver Frensky) is in the Robert De Niro movie The Score, and Barney's Version.
Ellen David is a massage parlour madame in Barney's version.
Arthur Holden(Ratburn and Bionic Bunny) is in Barney's Version and is also the radio announcer in the movie about Howard Hughes called The Aviator.
Robert Naylor (DW) played a ten and a half year old boy with severe emotional problems in a very heavy disturbing Quebecois movie called 10 1/2. It's a French language movie as Robert is completely bilingual.

Heidi Foss who voices Mary Moo Cow as well as the woman that does is the actor under the costume in The Last of Mary Moo Cow episode, is primarilly a stand up comic in English Canada. Based in Montreal she is quite well known in the comedy standup circuit and Just for Laughs. I attach a link to her standup show. It cracks me up when I see her do these small parts on Arthur because her personna is so strong and such a funny mix of adult comedy mixed with a mainstream kid's show. I find her sense of humor very droll and also carefully not getting laughs at the expense of others which is kind of rare  since the days of  Johnny Carson or later Seinfeld. I attach a link to Heidi's show and Mary Moo Cow as well as the Boring Woman who is the animated  person who plays Mary when DW visits the studio.

I looked in to the Jane Woods roles on Arthur and after much asking around I can confirm that she plays the role of Lavern Frensky. I notice that she does not have it listed on IMDB even, so that made it harder to confirm. I noticed on the Arthur WIKI that it incorrectly says Mrs. Woods is played by Jane Woods but that should be Susan Glover.

Thanks Earwig for pointing that out. Now we can make the changes to that. ;)
