I'm still here too. How is the other ECC on that other forum host?

Man, now that Luigi (or an unreasonable facsimile thereof) is back, ECC has turned into a baron wasteland of a ghost town.  :(

I know, this is really sad.

Sorry if I missed something earlier, but why did MC CJ delete their account? Was it simply the declining situation here? Same for ionic Bunny?

OK, wow. Where do I start? I had to take a break from this forum for a while to do some work, and when I come back, I have a notice that it's getting deleted. First of all, I was shocked that the createaforum administrator would schedule a shutdown of a forum without some sort of voting among the members. I read the message about the shutdown on the 12th, and I was kicking myself for not coming back sooner. I wonder why it didn't get shut down, did the administrator change their mind as they visited the forum, seeing the negative reaction?

Episodes / Re: Personalized Arthur Episode - my review
« on: December 28, 2013, 08:55:18 pm »
The personalized episode is passable at best. The one you posted here is the only one animated, and in my opinion, the characters do seem a bit off. My ideas is that they used a different form of animation, the same one used in the animated bits of Postcards From Buster. You can usually see the animation when the ears of the aardvarks move more often than they usually do, and by the slightly choppier movement of everything. The sound bit with the person's name also could have been dubbed a lot better.

It would have been impossible to do this with an animal-ized picture, or at least without great expense. The picture and sound are all put in in post-production. You can tell because you can never see anybody's lips when they say the name of the person, and the picture of the person are just keyframed to the spot on the neck area.

Sponsored by Partnership for a Drug-Free America.
By AT&T an official sponsor of Arthur. And by McCompson's, i'm loving it.
I remember when LEGO was a sponsor. Those were the days. 8)

This! ^^^^ Yes indeed they were.  8)
Same with the period when Juicy-Juice was a sponsor.

...Reading these last couple pages, I have no idea what has become of this thread.

The thread is turning into this, because some people (yes Muppetfan I'm calling you out on this) had to leave the wiki without appointing anyone as admin. Now we have this rat looking, perverted tool named Luigi from Wikia, whose head is too far up his you know what to get anything clear through his mind. This is what I've been trying to prevent from happening ever since November of last year. Now it's happening. This is just great.
I thought this would happen too. I'm actually quite surprised it hasn't happened before. He definitely should have appointed mods before leaving.

Games / Re: Arthur: the roleplay!
« on: December 01, 2013, 03:36:46 pm »
NAME: Buster Baxter
ROLE: High school student, same age as Arthur.
AGE: 16
GENDER: Male
BACKSTORY: Over the span of eight years, Buster has become closer to his dad, but still lives with his mom. He is still friends with the gang, his friendship with Arthur is as described by Bionic Bunny in his declaration post.
PERSONALITY: Buster still bears a strong resemblance to his old self. He cares a bit more about school now, but won't stress himself out with taking advanced classes. He joined the football team in his sophomore year (following Bionic Bunny's post). He is just beginning to notice his friendship drifting with Arthur, but he wants to save it, although he wants to try to juggle this task with maintaining his friendship with his other new friends. For about a year now, Bo has also been teaching Buster how to fly airplanes, making him cooler in the eyes of much of the gang, but it is secretly a source of jealously for Arthur.
APPEARANCE: Besides being taller, Buster is a little bit more clean now (but not too clean), and although he varies his outfit now, he still wears cyan shirts often.

I've actually never had a nosebleed. I consider myself lucky for that, they seem terrible to have.

By this point in the series, I wasn't surprised by Francine. She had already showed her two faces in the earliest seasons, like when she poked fun at Arthur about his glasses and the grudge-holding attitude in "Locked In The Library!" What was interesting however was the fact that she recompensed George at the end of the episode. In her earlier spells of evil, she would simply keep her personality until the end of the episode.

News! The second version (the cat) has been confirmed to have a name! The cat's name is Clown Face. :o (reference)
I wonder if they ever intentionally made the name up for Clown Face, or if they just named him that internally. Sometimes I wonder if the Facebook page just makes up some of this information in these comments.

Episodes / Re: Arthur's First Sleepover / Arthur's New Year's Eve
« on: December 01, 2013, 01:56:23 pm »
Thora aside, as she obviously didn't want to disturb Arthur since he was so sound asleep, D.W.'s comments seemed perfectly, and completely in-character for her... there was one time (I believe it was, "The Short, Quick Summer"), where she actually says, "I was trying to make him feel rotten, but now he feels great, I'm a failure as a little sister!", that's EXACTLY what she was doing, she was trying to make Arthur feel rotten for sleeping through midnight, even though she was disappointed in nothing happening... plus, I thought the stuff she just randomly made up on the spot were pretty funny, "Big explosions! And giant mules jumping off cliffs into the ocean! Wow, it was great!" I mean, just imagine THAT... "SHREEEEEEEEK! WAIT, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SWIIIIIIIIIIIM!" *Splash*
Now that I think about it (and re-watch it), you're right. The episode actually was pretty good, with both a good concept and execution. I'm not sure why I didn't like it the last time I saw it, I guess I must have been in a bad mood or something. It also had a lot of funny scenes, like the one with the "miserable meeting" where all of the parents gathered.

I forgot to mention too this episode features probably one of my favorite props from the whole show: D.W.'s bunny instant camera, that thing is so cute, lol.
It also has some great lines: "I'M RICH, I'M RICH! I'M A WEALTHY CHILD!"

I just got contacted by someone close to Muppetfan and they told me to chill out. The person did so, because Muppetfan is going to coming back out of nowhere very soon. He's going to deal with you. I suggest you behave yourself and stop this nonsense.
It's good to hear that Muppetfan may come back. It seems like he just dropped of the face of the internet a few months after he made the forum.

I also discovered the Arthur region 2 season sets(Seasons 1-2 only, though) are region free.
What about Seasons 3 and 4? Are they not region free?

I loved "Arthur's First Sleepover." I loved how it was such a simple yet fun episode, and how they got some "revenge" on D.W. It's probably one of my favorite episodes in the series, actually.

Against most of the opinions that I've heard, I really didn't like "Arthur's New Years's Eve." Arthur not being able to stay up, Grandma Thora not waking him up (she did try, but not too hard), and D.W.'s comments at the end just made for an episode that I didn't quite like.

Probably around the same time we'll see Double D from ED, EDD N EDDY without his hat.

But that does bring a question to mind... the Compsons are from Louisiana... well, it's HOT down in Louisiana... then again, it's hot down in the south, period... take it from me, I'm from Tennessee, and we're already in the 70s for highs by March, it gets into the 90 shortly before June, it'll reach anywhere between 105 to 115 in July and August, and it's still warm in the 70s for much of October... anyway, being from such a warm climate, how can Bud stand wearing a winter hunting hat like his all the time?

I used to know someone who wore his Coonskin cap every day, even when the weather was hot. I once had to ask him if he got hot under that hat. He said yes and show me that it was drenched in sweat inside.
I've since learned to not want to see under people's hats.

Arthur on the Web / Re: PFB: The Lost Episode

I never understood the Clifford controversy. I've heard it in a couple of places, but I've never really heard why some find it controversial.

The PFB episode in question really just has those two minutes regarding the family's two moms. It's not like the entire episode focuses on it, which is why I never understood why people made such a fuss out of it.
