They do. That's why I like the Tough Customers. There is just so much depth to each personality.

Take Molly, for example. She's a bully and can be extremely mean, although she also has some nice sides. She had become friends with Arthur in "Arthur Makes Waves," in "Don't Ask Muffy," it's revealed that she gives advice to people. She is, in some ways, a very generous person.

I kept thinking of you when typing that up.

But I'm overall happy that the Tough Customers are gonna be featured more. I have always been a huge Tough Customers fan, as there's just so much to love in that group. All the characters are just so unique and interesting. So needless to say, I'm overjoyed by their possible resurgence.

Since I posted my previous post, I came to a realization about something: the thing that redeems those episodes to me is the non-regular characters. Characters like Killer and even Amigo and the dogs at the sock market (Mr. Greenspaniel especially), those are what redeems these episodes to me. I feel like the non-Pal, Kate, Nemo animals have a lot more depth than the regulars.

Most of them I think are terrible. If well executed, they could have some potential, but they never seem to work properly. The one with the "Dolly Llama" thing (a newer episode, forget what it's called at the moment), was by far the worst. Same with the imaginary friend search, that part of the episode "Fifteen," some of them are just plain terrible.

Others, like "The Great Sock Mystery," are ones that are alright. Same with the parts of it from "It Came From Beyond," and even the original "The Secret Life of Dogs and Babies" I like on some level.

I mean, come to think of it, I actually liked most of the songs in that episode (especially Library Card and Jeckyll and Hyde), but I think it might actually be that they didn't quite set up the episode the best...dunno what I would have rather had, but the whole feeling of it was a little too shaky, it you get what I'm saying.

Yeah...that line is the most memorable Alex line to me. To add on to what was previously said, it also shows Alex's somewhat wildness and troublemaking.

General Discussion / The Introduction Thread

We have people coming from the wiki and people coming from other places, so maybe it would be nice if we all introduce ourselves.


For my introduction, I think basically everyone here already knows me, some know me as Muppetfan, others know me as Hubert. I went with using the name "Muppetfan" just because that is the name that is more tagged to my Arthur fandom, as more Arthur fans know me as that. Other than being creator and administrator of this forum and blog, I'm also an administrator at Arthur Wiki and a diehard Arthur fan who knows way too much about the series. As many of you know, I'm also a diehard Muppet fan, hence the username.

For me, that episode is probably one of my least favorites. I just didn't like the sudden change of pace to do a music show. The whole feel of the show was one I didn't like.

That is true that an episode with laughing in the title would most likely be about Buster, but then I wonder if maybe it could be a joint episode with Arthur and Buster sharing the spotlight, something like "Do You Believe in Magic?" with jokes instead or something.

Alex and Maria continue to mystify me over and over again. They are just such interesting characters that we only see small snippets of personality in their movements and background appearances.

The thing that amazes me the most is that they never seem to interact with the rest of the gang. You would think that being in the same class, someone would at least acknowledge them once in a while.
