To get back onto the topic of the actual EPISODES, has anyone seen 'Brain Freeze' on YouTube? It's pretty good.

Oh, and for November,if you like Ladonna, I have some episodes from the second half of Season 17 to recommend when they come out:
Speak Up, Francine!
Waiting For Snow
Go Fly a Kite

On CBBC, the second half is Season 17 has already mostly aired. I got to see 'Caught in the Crosswires' on the website. It was pretty good and the animation has improved a lot. However, only people in the UK can see it because of the proxy thing.

I also saw 'Framed' last night. Written by Kathy Waugh! And also, the animation on Buster's dream sequence with the other artists had amazing animation.
Oh, and Mr. Read spoke in 'Pets and Pests'.

Episodes / Re: Older Episode Theories

When I looked at the December schedule earlier, I was desperate to see some god old quality stuff, but NOTHING was there, not even anything past season 9!
Season 16 episodes 8-10 are going to rerun in December, but other than that, nothing else is there.

Episodes / Re: It's Time To Get The Old Arthur Back!

Well, I looked at PBS's December schedule, and it looks worse than November's schedule, other than the last three Season 16 episodes being reaired. I may start a petition to bring the Seasons 1-4 Arthur back, as last year, we got the Music Festival episode (recorded that one) and the Love Duck one (also got that one) in December.

Series Discussion / The Tone of Arthur
« on: October 29, 2013, 04:00:07 pm »
Has anyone noticed the tone of "Arthur" has changed over the years. As I said in the 'D.W Always Off the Hook' post, I noticed that a lot of Season 12-15 episodes, especially in Season 14, had a very preachy tone and were hardly humorous. Why did this happen?

Wow, pretty good animation. I can't wait :). I see in that clip at night they are shaded nicely.

Characters / Re: D.W. Always Off the Hook

In the earlier seasons, D.W was also kind of insulting. I rewatched "Arthur's Treasure Hunt" one of my favorite episodes, and I was practically crying with laughter on the bit where Arthur dug up the Roman city. Another bit that I laughed at was when D.W asked Arthur if he was burying his report card. Then, I watched "Buster Baxter and the Letter From the Sea" and it was so boring and blatant. There was practically no humour, D.W was the most boring part of the episode, and the part where Buster cleaned up the beach seemed very goody-goody. A lot of episodes from season 14 are like that for some reason.
Why did the writers change D.W from the source of humour in an episode to the worst part of it? After the Time Trouble episode, she was basically a different person, until Baby Steps in Season 16, when she again insulted Arthur.

Actually, 'Just the Ticket' sounds like an episode of Friendship Is Magic, 'The Ticket Master,' where Twilight Sparkle receives two tickets to the Grand Gala and her friends squabble over the spare ticket. I know numerous other cartoons with episodes like that.
'Ladonna Compson: Party Animal' and 'Adventures in Budylon' sound like they have potential. I hope we get to see more of Ladonna's family, and maybe her parents.
I wish someone from Australia who's seen the episodes could record them on YouTube. I would love to see the Ladonna/Bud episode pair, 'Go Fly a Kite', 'Caught In the Crosswires', and 'Brain Freeze'.

Series Discussion / Re: How much Arthur have you seen?
« on: October 19, 2013, 10:01:57 am »
I've seen nearly all the full episodes from the first five seasons. I own only one Arthur DVD, Arthur's First Crush, which I found at Half Price Books last month, so now I own a DVD with one episode from Season 6 and two from Season 4 (What Is That Thing, 1001 Dads). I don't get excited when any episodes from Seasons 6-16 air on TV because to me Seasons 1-5 are what I really consider good 'old' Arthur.
I also own the first season of Postcards From Buster, also found from Half Price Books a few years back, and it included the 'Sugartime' episode that is controversial. I experienced somewhat of a deja vu with Sleepy in Seattle because I live half and hour away.

To go off topic a little, did anyone noticed how the second half of Season 16 looked different from the first half? The colours were brighter and warmer, and you got a soft blurred feeling when looking at them. Will Season 17 be like that?

Also, I hope that this season we'll see more of D.W insulting Arthur like in Baby Steps and Night of the Tibble last season.

Weirdly, I just noticed that All Thumbs sounds like I Wanna Hold Your Hand, except with Arthur and Buster rather than Binky and George.

Oh, I just read Kidonia's official summary and it sounded like it's been done before somewhere...

I know some of these episodes sound like their plots have been done already (Maybe Kidonia will be different, considering we haven't got an official summary yet) and I'm also annoyed by the Pal and Kate ones, but I've learned that they usually air one or two Pal/Kate episodes per season, and that's it. Look at Fifteen from Season 15 and Baby Steps last season.
Looks like this season is in for more episodes where Arthur is the main role, but only in the first half. I'm also looking forward to seeing if the animation is going to be good or bad.

After last year's Season 16 topic, I thought it would be a good idea to start a topic discussing the new season out in November.Any opinions on Season 17 before the premiere?
