Hey Ralfsmouse,

I haven't posted at the New ECC in a long time, but our forum, the Slums of Elwood, is really coming along great!  We have nearly 1300 posts over the course of less than two months, tons of fan creations, an active forum game and a lot of great ongoing character discussion.  The traffic/user size is increasing all the time.  Our Chatbox is usually pretty active, too.  The whole place is lightly moderated so the overall mood is pretty relaxed, sort of like it was here before MomaLuigi started spamming.  We hope you (and everyone else) will come join us there!   :D

I agree, Mr. Ratburn's an institution in and of himself.  His voice embodies his proper boarding school upbringing and slight effeminate nature perfectly.

Unfortunately as you probably noticed, this forum's been pretty much a ghost town for the past month or so due to a suspicious troll, "MomaLuigi," spamming rampantly and there being no moderator to maintain things.
Several the more active users here started a new forum with an emphasis on a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere and combining serious Arthur discussion with silly fan creations and outrageous speculation:

Our doors are always open to fellow Arthur fans with a strange sense of humor and a strong interest in analyzing the show even down to the tiniest nuances.  You're welcome and invited to join us there!   :D

I promise I will, but only if you can provide me with a thorough, original, complete and universally-accepted explanation as to how quantum gravity can help explain the origin of the universe.

In theory perhaps, but remember that Congress was originally assembled, and shall also be the last resort on appeal in all disputes and differences now subsisting or that hereafter may arise between two or more States concerning boundary, jurisdiction or any other causes whatever; which authority shall always be exercised in the manner following. Whenever the legislative or executive authority or lawful agent of any State in controversy with another shall present a petition to Congress stating the matter in question and praying for a hearing, notice thereof shall be given by order of Congress to the legislative or executive authority of the other State in controversy, and a day assigned for the appearance of the parties by their lawful agents, who shall then be directed to appoint by joint consent, commissioners or judges to constitute a court for hearing and determining the matter in question: but if they cannot agree, Congress shall name three persons out of each of the United States, and from the list of such persons each party shall alternately strike out one, the petitioners beginning, until the number shall be reduced to thirteen; and from that number not less than seven, nor more than nine names as Congress shall direct, shall in the presence of Congress be drawn out by lot, and the persons whose names shall be so drawn or any five of them, shall be commissioners or judges, to hear and finally determine the controversy, so always as a major part of the judges who shall hear the cause shall agree in the determination: and if either party shall neglect to attend at the day appointed, without showing reasons, which Congress shall judge sufficient, or being present shall refuse to strike, the Congress shall proceed to nominate three persons out of each State, and the secretary of Congress shall strike in behalf of such party absent or refusing; and the judgement and sentence of the court to be appointed, in the manner before prescribed, shall be final and conclusive; and if any of the parties shall refuse to submit to the authority of such court, or to appear or defend their claim or cause, the court shall nevertheless proceed to pronounce sentence, or judgement, which shall in like manner be final and decisive, the judgement or sentence and other proceedings being in either case transmitted to Congress, and lodged among the acts of Congress for the security of the parties concerned: provided that every commissioner, before he sits in judgement, shall take an oath to be administered by one of the judges of the supreme or superior court of the State, where the cause shall be tried, 'well and truly to hear and determine the matter in question, according to the best of his judgement, without favor, affection or hope of reward': provided also, that no State shall be deprived of territory for the benefit of the United States.

Do you concur?

I wasn't too big on Flea, as I'm really not too big on talking animal episodes.  That is, unless those animals happen to be the main cast and not the animals they own in this strange, cannibalistic nightmare of a universe.

Kiss and Tell was cute, though.  I always like seeing D.W. try to assert herself on matters that are clearly beyond her tender age's appreciation and understanding.  That, and it's endlessly funny watching James get pushed around and taken advantage of considering that the Queen of Mean is his big sister.

I concur in part, but only because in order to develop new electronic devices, it is necessary to find innovative solutions to the eco-sustainability problem of materials as substrates for circuits. We realized a photoresponsive device consisting of a semiconducting polymer film deposited onto optically semitransparent and conductive biodegradable poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB)/carbon nanotube (CNT) substrates. The experiments indicated that the PHB-CNT bionanocomposite substrate behaves as an optical window trapping electric charges produced by the photoexcitation of the semiconducting polymer. Such PHB-CNT functional substrates are expected to be attractive for eco-friendly electronics.

But I have to disagree on your poignant assertation that self-consistent field theory is used to study the directed self-assembly of diblock copolymers under cylindrical confinement; this is particularly relevant in the case of the hole-shrink problem where cylindrical prepatterns are used to produce cylindrical holes with a reduced diameter. Simulations indicate that a variety of regular morphologies form inside the guiding hole, ranging from the highly desired cylindrical domain to disconnected beads and open rings. More complex geometries combining several of the regular morphologies are also observed.

I look forward to your response.

I'll stick around as usual until something more disastrous shows up.  Then when it does, I'll have fun playing with it like a dead raccoon.  I tend to prefer lightly moderated or completely un-moderated communities anyway, even when trolls do happen.  It makes things more colorful, vibrant and unpredictable.  Sort of like playing hot potato with a live hand grenade.

I've known a few people who've tried getting old abandoned forums deleted, and apart from a very grave TOS violation such as child p0rnography or a major piracy trade, it generally doesn't happen due to respect for the original Administrator's account.  Otherwise, much of the time it takes nothing too short of a valid legal threat/order from a court, law enforcement agency or attorney.

Create-a-Forum, ForuMotion, ProBoards, etc. could technically shut down a forum for even very minor TOS violations like silly spam or even minor swearing, but doing so would cause bad publicity, cost them traffic and advertising, and pose a risk of gaining a reputation as an unstable forum provider.

Another thing I particularly love about this episode is that it feels much longer than just 15 minutes.  It feels almost like an hour-long special, and probably due to the fact that it involves multiple feature songs.  It makes me wonder if this episode wasn't originally planned as an hour-long special, but eventually got cropped down.

Happy Anniversary is another one that achieved a strangely epic feel due to the story involving so many different, rapidly-changing and almost dreamlike scenarios.
