Title: Forced Celebrity Guest Spots
Post by: Snowth Woogle on September 30, 2012, 10:18:39 pm
I know celebrity guest appearances has been something the series has been doing since the beginning (Mister Rogers), but I don't know, is it just me, or does it seem like the celebrity guest appearances have gotten more and more forced as the series has progressed? It seems like it's an unwritten rule that they have to have at least one celebrity guest star per season, doesn't it? I mean, name at least one season in recent years where there ISN'T a celebrity guest star?

No, I'm just saying anymore, it just seems rather forced.

Guest stars always seem forced when they are playing themselves no matter what show you are watching :/

I think the Matt Damon one was pretty unnecessary.

There have been two instances where they brought back celebrity guest stars: Lance Armstrong (seasons 12 and 13) and Joan Rivers (seasons 12 and 15).

For "Elwood City Turns 100," Muffy invited past guest stars. Larry King was the only guest star to not be animated.

They have even had "celebrity guest stars" that I've never even heard of. The Finnish ABBA-like band that played Binky, Arthur Ganson,  Koko Taylor, Taj Mahal, Frank Gehry, Mike Finke (I did see him on the CBS Evening News recently).
