I Miss the Old Elwood City Central....
« on: February 02, 2014, 11:51:11 am »
I REALLY,REALLY,REALLYmiss the old ECC.Anything "new" that goes on around here anymore is Luigi spamming about Bud Compson's hat and all anyone ever does is just keeps feeding him, giving him fuel and a reason to still be around here, bugging us.And it's even gone so far as to have some various members leave this forum(which I am seriously considering doing now that I have an account at the new ECC)while others have joined the new ECC or the Slums of Elwood. So,thanks to Luigi this forum now sucks, and thanks to Muppetfan never appointing another administrator before he left, there's not a **** thing we can do about it.

I think the old ECC can continue as long as new discussion crops up or until some greater unmanageable threat comes along.  It seems that everything is about Bud Compson's Hat because of the lag in new episodes and hence, discussion of related news and ideas.  As a result, the only ongoing discussion is 2-3 short posts a day about pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

Due to lack of an Admin, however, there could possibly come a day when Create-a-Forum decides to delete it for lack of account verification.  I think it's probably best to gradually shift things over to the new forums in case that suddenly happens and we're left to start anew without any warning.  While that's happening, this place is at least good for advertising the new forums and directing traffic there.

I agree. I haven't been on here for very long, but I've enjoyed my time here. Plenty of nice people, interesting topics, and the ultimate rendering of Tina the Talking Tabby.  :D Then of course came Luigi...

Guess I'll hop on over to one of the 'new' forums, probably the Slum one because I have its link on hand. I'll keep my account here open regardless - just for a while at least. Until then, I guess Bud's parasitic hat has taken over permanently.

I feel bad for abandoning this site, because some delusional nut keeps bringing up the same subject over and over again, even going as far as to spam the Arthur and Marc Brown Studios Facebook. Glad to hear he was globally blocked on Wikia.

The Slums welcome you!  :)  While you're there, don't mind all of the Homeless Santa and Village Idiots.

The whole situation was amusing and bemusing at first, but it got really old really quickly, and there doesn't appear to be an end to it in sight.

And because of that, we kind of let ourselves get a little crazy and unorthodox around, and again, that too was amusing at first, but it too got really old really quickly.

I know Hubert supposedly felt the need to take a break from the internet in general (people have been asking about him over at Muppet Central as well), but gosh, it's been like a year now since he's last been seen anywhere, you'd think that'd be enough of a break for anybody.  :-\

But yeah, I, likewise, am also going to be stepping away from ECC, until and/or unless some kind of order can be restored around here.

Although you have to admit, Real Muffy, Dead Bailey and the Tale of the Touched Bunny fiasco sure was fun while it lasted.   ;D

I honestly wonder if Muppetfan/Hubert has passed away or fallen into some dire circumstances.
Twice I've had friends who suddenly disappeared off the face of the internet.  One guy committed suicide, and the other I later found out had been committed to a mental hospital for bloody murder.

I'm not entirely sure, but the last I heard, somebody over at Muppet Central was in direct contact with him, and he said he needed to take a break from the internet in general, because of all the negativity (even though I'm not on the Wiki, I understand troll problems over there were a major contributing factor in his decision).

I think, too, things got real busy for him IRL, so he probably also didn't or doesn't have a whole lot of freetime to check on any of this stuff... that could be it, I'm not sure. Alls I know, for certain, is that he decided to take something of a sabbatacle from the internet.

Well I wonder if it will be too late to save this forum when he actually comes back.

I don't think so.

Luigi is pretty much the main, and only problem plaguing the forum at the time; everything else is pretty much the rest of us kind of indulging in some craziness of our own. You take away Luigi, that will essentially take away the reason for acting crazy, and when we're not acting crazy, we can get back into the flow of things around here. In short, Luigi pretty much started a chain reaction. Take awat Luigi, that should pretty much solve most, if not all of the problems at ECC.

There hasn't been a troll problem over on the wiki in nearly two years now. After we got rid of some other dbags over there and did some "attitude adjustments" for existing users, things went back to normal rapidly.
