Arthur Art
« on: October 10, 2012, 11:31:48 am »
It's taken quite a while, but Arthur seems to have finally built up something of a decent fanbase on deviantART... but at any rate, here's some of the Arthur-related art I've posted on dA over the years:

I admit, the "DON'T MESS WITH ME!!!" one is a little naughty, but it twas inspired by a hilarious YouTube comment I once read, that I just HAD to do something with it.

Very nice job. For some reason the D.W. and the Nadine one really sticks out to me. Nice job on all of them, and nice references. Although I was wondering, what is the inspiration for the Binky's dream one?

D.W. and Nadine's little moment was one of those that was done on a whim... really no rhyme or reason, just something I felt like drawing, but I think in a sense, it captures a childhood fantasy that kids probably at times wish their imaginary friends were, indeed, real.

As for Binky's dream... I don't know, I just got on a kick on Binky's little banana tirade from "How the Cookie Crumbles"... "I said banana, banana was MY idea, without ME there IS no banana!" I don't know, I guess maybe I thought it would be amusing that Binky goes to sleep at night and dreams of a world where everything is bananas, and he is one with the bananas.

In the spirit of Halloween and such, I did this quick pic of my little (cyber) sister, and I, dressed up as, who else? Arthur and D.W.

Finally, a logical explanation for D.W.'s behavior.  I always heard aardvarks hit puberty early...

Here's my Ms painting of Ferny, took me 10 minutes. Hope you enjoy.

Hahahahahahaha...  :D

Seriously, this is great work.  Now Real Muffy has a real friend in the Land of Strange Delights.

I know we discussed it at great length, but I completely dropped the ball on 3D Fern.  I did some preliminary shaping, but nothing worth posting yet.
That, and life's been on the loose lately in the form of deadlines.

Oh yes, they are both enjoying themselves frolicking through the Land of Strange Delights hand to hand.
And it's all good, I'm sure once you have finished any of your deadlines and touched up on whatever needs touching up, 3D fern will look amazing.
I look forward to more of your creations, they are awesome!

You've hit the nail on the head so well with this Fern portrait, I honestly don't think I can match its depraved, craven atmosphere.
For my next model, I think a Jew for the New Year is in high order.
I've been so deeply inspired by her performance in The Long, Dull Winter that the very thought, which yet is but fantastical, shakes so my single state of man that function is smothered in surmise...
...and nothing is but what is not.
