More Arthur episodes on Netflix
« on: January 08, 2013, 10:19:24 pm »
Every now and then I glance through the menu of Instant Netflix. The good news is that they now have episodes from seasons 1 through 9. The bad news is that seasons 1 through 3 only have the first ten episodes per season.

Or... you can go on YouTube, and different users have most, if not all, of the episodes from those seasons posted.

Quality of those episode vary from user to user. Some upload in HD and others don't. Some have very poor quality.

Yes, and some half-hour episodes are divided into four parts, some two parts, and some kept whole.

That too. Earlier on (around 2010) I ran into a lot of problems with that.

But no one on YouTube has posted Arthur episodes from the recent first half of the first 9 Story season nor the yet to air in the US Arthur episodes from the same first 9 Story season.

Which means it was removed because of copyright.

YouTube NEVER wants to admit anymore that the companies have the videos taken down for copyright, so instead, they put in its place, "Removed by the user"; trust me, I've gotten in trouble with Lionsgate, Disney, Fox, Bagdasarian Productions, among others for copyright, and whenever you click the links to those videos, they all say, "Removed by the user", when they were deleted by whoever filed the copyright complaint.

Bumping because according to a post on an Arthur Tumblr page, Netflix added Season 15...but removed Seasons 1-12. :'(

Hulu has all of Seasons 7-14, and Amazon and iTunes have 10-15. Looks like anything before S7 can now only be viewed on YouTube outside of TV...

I liked how Netflix used the versions that air on PBS now, minus the funding credits. This meant that Season 1 episodes had the episode titles read aloud and Season 6 had Arthur's voice redubbed (I believe "Sue Ellen Gets Her Goose Cooked" and "Best of the Nest" are the only episodes who have their redubbed versions on YouTube. Every other Season 6 episode, including other uploads of those two, have the original Arthur voice), though it also meant that Seasons 12-14 (and now 15) were not HD (are there any S12 uploads on YT that are the HD versions? I don't recall seeing any, but apparently that's when HD production started).

And I liked the original "And Now a Word From Us Kids" sting used in original/non U.S. broadcasts of Season 1, which has since been redubbed with a later version. I think you can still hear the original sting in YT uploads of "Arthur's Eyes/Francine's Bad Hair Day" since other countries use the original episodes and PBS often has to make modifications to them for newer funding credits and PBS promos.

WHAT?? They took off Seasons 1-12?? And...added...fif...TEEN??!!!!!! I'm not saying S15 is the worst, but give 12 seasons for 1? That's-that's-that's-that's IDIOTIC STUPID DELIRIOUS...STUPID...oh, I already said that. I watch Netflix a lot (I have a Roku), and Arthur is one of my top shows! Couldn't they just have added Season 15 onto all the other eps? Isn't their goal to have ALL of the episodes?

Yes! Please upload! I have no idea how to do that, so I just rely on other people. There is one reliable user and YouTube that has a couple episodes from the SECOND half of Season 16, (Fern and the Case of the Stolen Story, Sue Ellen Vegges Out) and the PBS Kids video player keeps uploading new episodes about every month.
