Re: Arthur @ NY Comic Con 2013

My thoughts exactly. Part of me knows that I want to go now, but the bigger part of me knows that I would never go to Comic Con.
I know I really shouldn't say anything, because a number of different friends of mine do actually go to these different kinds of conventions (matter of fact, one friend of mine actually met Doug Walker at an anime convention), but based on the photos and video footage I've seen from people who do attend those kind of cons... it just really disturbs me...

Some people have justified that cons are usually an opportunity for people to forget about their troubles, responsibilities, and such for a short time, and just have fun... I guess I can see that, but when I see grown men and women running around dressed up and acting like different anime/manga characters, that kind of weirds me out.

Even scarier was an article I read not too long ago that cosplaying has become such a big deal in recent years that many people who do it regularly consider it a "way of life".

I will admit, there was that MuppetFest in 2002, which I didn't know about at the time, but had I known, I would have wanted to go, but other than that...
I stretch like a snake, and I shimmy and shake, and I bounce like a ball, and I say something cute when you give me a squeeze!
