The Episode Help Thread
« on: October 27, 2012, 09:55:59 am »
Ever have a certain plot element of a story but don't know what episode it is in? I'm creating this thread for that.

I need help with this: I seem to recall an episode of Arthur where there is a fantasy in which the Tibbles are named Tweedledee and Tweedledum. I think there may have been some other Alice in Wonderland characters also involved.

No, I am sure it wasn't. It was another episode...I had originally thought it was "Rhyme for Your Life," but that theory was proven wrong...

That was "Arthur and the Big Riddle" from Season 5.

Uhh... something just crossed my mind... but I'm having trouble remembering the episode, though I'm sure it's probably from the first two seasons or so.

All I can remember at this point was Arthur and the gang went to Principal Haney's house, begging him to unlock the doors to school so they could look for something, while his reaction was, "You kids WANT to go to school? On a SATURDAY? Well, I must be doing SOMETHING right..."

Hm...for some reason that isn't ringing a bell for me at all, though I'm not quite as well versed on the very early seasons because I haven't seen them nearly as recently...

It seems like the more I try to remember it, the more I think I can place it, but it's just not coming to me... I just remember the gang was looking for something important, and begged Mr. Haney to let them into the school so they can look (while he thinks they just simply want to go to school on a Saturday), and search all over the classroom, but can't find it.

Again, it's like it's on the back of my mind, but I just can't place it... same deal with the episode itself, it's in the back of my mind, but I just can't place it. It seems like it's something one of the girls lost, either Francine or Muffy... it wouldn't be "Sue Ellen's Lost Diary", I remember that one.

Looking through the episodes of early seasons again, could it have been "Arthur's Lost Library Book"? I don't know if that particular scene was in it, but the plot of the episode seems to fit that bill.

Maybe, I guess... I can't even really remember the full plot of that one either (I just remember it was Binky who had found it all along)...

I just checked YouTube, and no, that wasn't the one.

But it was nice to watch this one again though, I keep forgetting how different Binky's voice sounded in the beginning... and whatever happened to the old days where whenever Buster jumps to a conclusion about some kind of other worldly creatures being responsible for whatever happened, and we'd get a quick pan to the exact creatures Buster is talking about, as they deny any responsibility of what happened, before panning back to them?

Not as frequently as it used to, though.

But, other than that, I also liked D.W.'s chapter sequeys: "Chapter four... 'It's Lost, Okay? Face it, You Lost It'..."

I think that is mostly due to the fact that Buster's character has been largely developed over the course of the series, more than most characters.

Though I would like to see more of the old alien thing.
