It seems like they don't really show earlier episodes in general any more. Dated animation maybe? 

That may be the case. The animation on those episodes is pretty dated. Once again, I think that they're becoming much more paranoid, so to speak, about what episodes they show.

I wonder if the different character voices could also have some effect on what they show? Sometimes companies get so wrapped up in trying not to confuse kids...
