Binky Goes Nuts questions
« on: September 30, 2012, 05:15:26 pm »
1) In Binky's first dream, could Binky still get an allergic reaction if he eats lasagna from a chef would once stepped on a peanut, eat a burger from a chef's middle name is peanut, or eat Lemon Meringue pie that contain eggs from chicken who once dreamed of a dancing peanut in a polar hat? 2) Wouldn't the store clerk warn Binky that he is buying something that contains peanuts, especially hearing him over the phone and his conversation with Jenna? 3) Did Dr. Legume and Anna Phylaxis in Binky's Nightmare die when Bionic Bunny wrapped them up in the slice of bread?
Arthur: I told you...NOT TO TOUCH IT!!! Captain Falcon: Falcon Punch! Terry Bogard: Are you okay!? Buster Wolf!

1. No way. Those were just some examples Binky imagined that were basically an exaggerated version of his allergy. A chef stepping on a peanut wouldn't have any effect...he isn't making lasagna with his shoe. For the middle name one, Binky is not allergic to the word, only the food. And once again for the last one, he is not allergic to the word "peanut" or the idea of one.

2. No, it's really doubtful. The store clerk would have had no reason to even care enough to listen to his conversation. And even if he did hear them, what would the clerk care? The clerk isn't a health specialist or something. For all he knew, Binky was buying the food for a friend or something.

3. No idea.

One thing I dislike about this episode is how un-realistic it is... I mean seriously, do you think there are actual restaurants and establishments that prepare food just for people with specific food allergies? I mean one think I've loved about this series is that the stories and situations are pretty real and believable... this is a bit more far-fetched, kind of like "Prunella Sees the Light", do movie theaters really offer SAP headphones for the blind?

And why does Binky just suddenly have peanut allergies? He ate a LOT of peanut butter prior to this episode... but then again, in one episode he says his favorite thing is macaroni and cheese, then later he says he hates macaroni and cheese, so... eh.

Now the chances of one being in your town, however...

Food allergies actually can develop at any point in life...it's more common for them to be present straight from birth, but a sudden development can happen.

And some movie theaters do actually have headphones for the blind available, for example: http://elevennews.byu.edu/?p=2861
