Was Prunella Ever a Witch?
« on: October 08, 2012, 04:48:48 pm »
Okay, I'm listening to Halloween Music on the Sounds of the Seasons Music Choice channel on Comcast/xfinity, and just a minute ago, they played something they called "The Witch Casts a Spell", which they apparently didn't know where it came from, because they simply credited it as being by "Various Artists", and said it was stock sound effects and such, but anyway, the "song" was basically a witch reciting a bewitching, Halloween version of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" about casting a spell... at one point, she addresses herself as Prunella, and she even sounded just like her if she added a sinister growl to her voice... there was also a brief moment where you can hear other kids screaming, and even a coherent, "Get away from me! Get away from me!", which sounded very much like D.W., not to mention the other kids screaming did sound like Arthur and his friends screaming.

Did this ever happen on the show, and if so, can it be assumed that it was Halloween-themed episode or something, with Prunella getting carried away dressed as a witch or something?

EDIT: Okay, NOW, they're playing another track called "Witches Brew"... I SWEAR it's the same Prunella. What are these from?

I stretch like a snake, and I shimmy and shake, and I bounce like a ball, and I say something cute when you give me a squeeze!

That is just plain weird. I've never heard of anything like this.

I'll try to see if I can get a recording of either of them and share them with you guys, because yeah, I SWEAR it's the same Prunella.

First of all, I am sorry for posting in this VERY old topic, but I have just found something that I think would be interesting.

I have managed to find a recent recording of this "song" that Snowth Woogle was talking about, but I have still not found an artist for it.

Here is a link:

Some interesting points of the chant are:
0:15 The Witch calls herself "Prunella."
1:03-1:12 She says "Tonight tonight we gather the dead," which is then repeated by a group of children sounding hypnotized.
1:13-1:20 The Witch tells the kids she will chop off their heads, followed by...
1:17: The "Get away from me" that sounds like DW.
1:43: Another quiet group of screams.
1:52: The song ends with about five minutes of emptiness at the end.

EDIT: I have also managed to find a recording of the "Witch's Brew" song, also featuring "Prunella."
There is no guesswork needed to see if it is the same person, she calls herself Prunella right at the beginning.

Here's the link to that video:

OMG, yes! Those are them, thank you Ralf!

In all seriousness, does that not sound like Tamar Kozlov? This whole thing is VERY interesting... hmm...

To further add evidence to this bizarre turn of events, look at this scene featuring Rubella in "Prunella The Packrat."

http://youtu.be/TCgrvin_KEQ?t=2m16s
For those who can't view it, it is Rubella dressed in a cloak, sounding almost like the witch in the songs.

But seriously, the person in the songs does sound quite similar to Tamar Kozlov.

Sorry about the double post, but I found out something else. This song is from an album called "Scary Sound Effects: Nightmarish Noise For Halloween." No artist is given for the CD, as it is mostly just sound effects. There is a track listing and previews for the tracks on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Scary-Sound-Effects/dp/B0060G8Y10/

...I think that I've have put much more effort into this than I should have, but this was quite a coincidence if it is one.
