After Fern's 2nd story in "Fern and the Case of the Stolen Story," Binky says it's like a Raymond Hammett story. Who is Raymond Hammett?

The name is most likely a combination of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett, two authors who wrote a number of crime and detective novels in the 20th century. Raymond Chandler is best known for creating the Phillip Marlowe character, his novels include "The Big Sleep" and "Farewell, My Lovely". He was also a screenwriter who co-wrote the films "Double Indemnity" and "Strangers on a Train". Dashiell Hammett is probably best known for "The Maltese Falcon", and his other works include "Red Harvest", "The Glass Key" and "The Thin Man".
