Hmm, I never thought that people confused her for a poodle, I always thought that she looked like a rat.

2. In the book Arthur's Teacher Trouble, she has buckteeth, and her snout is more rodent-like.

Wow, she looks seriously scary in that picture.

I, too, believe Prunella is a rat...but just to clarify, a "Packrat" is just a name for someone who collects clutter. It does not mean anyone who does it is a rat...just saying.

I'm guessing some people assumed Prunella was a poodle (though I never did) because it would have been alliterative theme naming, like some of the other characters are (to wit: Arthur an aardvark, Buster a bunny, Brain a bear, Binky a bulldog, Muffy a monkey, Ratburn a rat, et al.)
I stretch like a snake, and I shimmy and shake, and I bounce like a ball, and I say something cute when you give me a squeeze!

Well then, she's the most ambiguous-looking poodle in this universe... I mean, Fern is more obviously a poodle, but Prunella, again, it's so hard to tell with her... and she does look a little like Ratburn (especially the nose).
