Is anyone else excited as I am about James MacDonald becoming more and more a main character? Some of the situations the writers put him in are hilarious IMO.  ;)

Not really. Just another in a long line of previously minor extra characters that are being expanded upon since there's not much left to do with the main characters, if you ask me.

What's weird is that even though I like James's character and personality, I'm not a fan of most of the episodes in which he had a major role. I did like "Arthur Sells Out" in which James bought a toy from Arthur, but Arthur didn't say that it was broken.

Well, most of the episodes where he's part of the focus are episodes that center on D.W. and her daycare class, and usually those episodes aren't necessarily well received by some people (kind of like those Pal and Kate episodes).

I don't mind them so much myself, but again, I never really put much thought into how much more James has been featured in larger roles.

The preschool episodes to me can be pretty interesting as it focuses on issues that preschoolers deal with.

James is fine. Not great, not horrible, just...fine. His personality is common and relateable. He's kinda like the preschool version of Fern. However, I sometimes find him annoying.
