Favorite Arthur and D.W. Moments
« on: October 15, 2012, 09:35:54 pm »
One of the things Arthur and D.W. are famous for are their typical sibling squabbles that are abundent between older brothers and younger sisters, however, every so often, they actually will pull together and work as a team, or actually have a little moment of, "Aww, Look, They Really Do Love Each Other". What are some of your favorite moments like that?

One of my favorite is when Arthur and D.W. pull together to throw Grandma Thora a surprise party, there were a lot of great comedy moments throughout: D.W.'s shoppinh list only saying candy, them staying up late to finish decorating the living room, then trying to bake a simple pound cake only to wake their parents...

D.W.: Hi! What brings you here?
ARTHUR: Mom. Dad.
MR. READ: Son.
ARTHUR and D.W.: HELP!
*Moments later*
MR. READ: Here we are, one beautiful cake, and four delicious cupcakes.
D.W.: This was fun, can we stay up late tomorrow night and make taffy?
MR. and MRS. READ: No.

I can't remember the specific episode, but I also like when Arthur takes the time to think about what would happen if he does or doesn't help D.W. with a problem, figuring if he doesn't, she'll throw a tantrum, but if he does, she'll be peaceful.

And I like those Imagine Spots where they imagine what it would be like if they tried to take care of themselves, like in "Mom and Dad Have a Big Fight", or "Is There a Doctor in the House?" Arthur wailing, "I know! We're terrible parents!" cracks me up every time, I don't know why.
I stretch like a snake, and I shimmy and shake, and I bounce like a ball, and I say something cute when you give me a squeeze!

My favorite moments probably include (when they were nice to each other): the ending to D.W's time travel. For when they're bickering my favorites were for Arthur, when he punched DW, and for DW it was funny how she kept talking about beating Arthur at checkers for an entire year.

A couple of more that come to my mind:

There's a couple of occasions where D.W. slips into Arthur's bed, either because she was scared for him, or felt bad for him, those are usually really sweet little scenes.

Also, from "Arthur's Lucky Pencil", D.W. stops Arthur from stepping on the pencil. "You could have tripped and DIED! I saved your life!" From D.W.'s perspective, I'm sure seeing Arthur trip on a pencil would probably seem like a big deal to her, so I think it's really funny and sweet that she "saved his life".
